4 Different Ways You Can Consume CBD

The rapidly growing cannabidiol (CBD) market can be a confusing one for first-time users of the substance often left unsure of the best ways to consume CBD.

With its rising popularity in the health and wellbeing world, more and more products are being developed as regular users of the cannabis-based chemical demand a variety of ways to ingest it.

Unlike its cousin tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main psychoactive compound found in cannabis, CBD does not produce the ‘high’ effect which is often associated with the plant.

This has led to its increasing legality across the world as medical professionals and academics have advocated its use for potentially treating various conditions; from skin disorders to sleeping issues, anxiety, and depression, amongst others.

With a growing volume of research on the possible health benefits of using CBD, innovation has led to a rising number of ways in which it can be used. From sprays and oils to creams and edibles, read on to discover just some of the ways to consume CBD.

Orally (Sublingually)

Contents

One of, if not, the most common way of using CBD is to take it sublingually with a drop under the tongue. Offering a discreet, quick, and easy method, sublingual CBD products include oils, tinctures, sprays, and lozenges.

This method is a fast and efficient way of consuming it compared to digesting it for example, because more CBD is preserved by letting the product absorb under the tongue. And because consuming CBD sublingually bypasses the digestive system altogether, it’s not long before you will feel an effect.

It’s super easy to do as well, to use an oil you simply place a few drops under your tongue for half a minute or so before swallowing, while using tinctures follows the same process. As long as you can deal with CBD’s earthy taste, this might well be the best way for you to consume CBD.

Topically (Creams etc)

An equally common way of consuming CBD is to apply it topically on the skin using a number of CBD-infused products. These offer an effective way of relieving some physical localized pain and inflammations and can treat skin conditions such as eczema.

And because CBD-infused topical products often contain vitamins A-E, others benefits of using these products includes helping to maintain skin repair and providing antioxidants.

And while most people would associate topical products with creams, other products that that can be rolled onto the skin include roll-ons and balms, for example.

Inhalation

One of quickest ways for CBD to take effect on your bloodstream, many people find that they prefer to inhale CBD by either smoking CBD concentrate or using a vape.

High-CBD cannabis flower can be used in a joint or pipe, while CBD sugar waxes could even be used in most vape pens that might have a separate chamber for liquids.

Any new-time users should do their research before buying any vaporizers though. From flower vapes to oil-based vape pens and table-top vaporizers, it’s important you purchase the right product for you.

Gummies and Edibles

For those that are not keen on the thought of inhaling CBD through either smoking or vaporizing and can’t deal with the taste under the tongue when using oils and tinctures, gummies and other edibles may be your best bet.

Having become one of most popular ways of consuming CBD in the last couple of years, there are so many products available on the market offering different ways to ingest CBD.

Edibles in the forms of gummies and lollipops offer some secrecy if wanting to use them in the workplace, while edible oils can offer you endless options when mixing with food and drink.

But because they are being ingested, you might not get as much of an effect as you might when using CBD under the tongue, for example, and it will certainly take longer before you feel any real effect.

So if you using CBD edibles for the first time, it’s important to start slow and low.
