Excellent News for the Marijuana Cultivators! Know how to Harvest the Best Smelling Weed

There are lots of cannabis plant growers who focus entirely on the CBD or THC compounds and do not consider the taste and smell of their stuff. A marijuana plant contains hundreds of terpenes and cannabinoids. The terpene is essentially liable for the fragrance and flavor of a plant’s strain.

And many of the growers do not know that the smell of the buds does a lot to improve or worsen the quality.

Now, let us tell you that terpenes are the greatest key-player in improving the scent of the buds.

On the marijuana plants, the formation of terpenes takes place along with trichomes of the flowers where cannabinoids are also present. To boost the aroma of your cannabis, you need to take measures regarding the improvement of the production of the terpenes.

Well, if you do not know much about the ways of harvesting the best-smelling strains, here are 5 tips that will bring an aromatic sensation into your stuff.

1.     Use Specialized Supplements and Nutrients

Numbers of supplements and nutrient options are available in the market in the present day. You may do a little research and focus items that are uniquely intended to improve the smell and flavor of cannabis buds.

But you have to keep a few things in mind. You ought not to utilize such a large number of nutrients during the phase of flowering. The plants need some specific nutrients during that phase, the ones which are high in Phosphorus and Potassium, but low in Nitrogen.

Blackstrap molasses provides carbohydrates, crucial minerals, and amino acids to your plants and help the cannabis grow with its best possible flavor and aroma. Put them to your plants half a month prior to the reaping.

There is a particular dosage for putting the blackstrap molasses to your plants- while watering the soil, add half a tea-spoon molasses to per gallon of water and mix it; now water your plants with that mixture.

2.     Strong Lights with UV-B is Necessary

If you already have the basic knowledge for marijuana growing, you will surely know that exposure to a strong light is extremely necessary. The right kind of ray (UV light) is automatically provided by the sun if you grow the plants outdoors.

But, for most of the cultivators, growing the plants outside is not that practical. So, they need to create a suitable climate indoors and plant the saplings there.

UV-B lighting helps to improve the aroma of the buds along with increasing the production. The best possible sources of artificial UV-B light are CMH/LECs and LEDs.

3.     Living Soil is a Must

Living soil is called “super soil” in the world of marijuana for some good reasons. This sort of soil helps your plants to flourish as they are rich in an active colony of microorganisms.

Filled with important supplements and amendments, this soil is an upgraded version of natural soil.

4.     Humidity and Temperature Matter

Once your plants hit the mark of 6-weeks, they hit the blooming stage. The indoor growers can force their plants towards flowering by artificially creating consecutive darkness of 12 continuous hours and then 12 continuous hours of daylight, on an everyday basis. Moreover, the temperature must be below 80 degrees Fahrenheit inside your grow room.

Higher temperature burns off the aroma in the buds. Reducing the relative humidity is also necessary. The humidity needs to be 50% or less during the blooming phase.

5.     Dry Your Buds Properly

After harvesting your crop, there are many things to be done. To get fragrant buds, proper drying and curing are the most necessary aspects.

The process of drying and curing is quite lengthy. Don’t try to rush it because drying the buds too quickly leaves your buds with a minty taste.

If you can snap your buds off, know that they are dry; and if they just get bent, you need to wait for some more days.

Final Thoughts

Finally, we can say, do not think much and choose a cannabis strain that thrives in your growing environment. Do a brief analysis in your mind regarding the sort of aroma and taste you want your stuff to have, and just go for it, no matter what! Also, remember that you should not cut the corners of your plants.

And never hesitate to spend a few extra dollars if you feel any necessity, as it will only bring you better results.

Though each scent is not delightful, you can transform the smell of the dreadful ammonia to a perfumed paradise, if you follow the above-mentioned tips.
