Cannabinoids

If you have a zero knowledge about what cannabinoids are, it is nearly impossible for you to understand about CBD or THC.

So here’s what a cannabinoid is–It is a compound which is solely found in cannabis plants. This compound triggers the release of neurotransmitters in your brain by interacting with the endocannabinoid system of your body.

The definition tells us why cannabis is so powerful and exert such a robust effect on our body.

CBD

The full name of CBD is Cannabidiol. It has a similar molecular structure that THC has, the difference is that the atoms are arranged distinctively. It is non-intoxicating.

Even if you consume a full bottle of CBD oil, you will remain fit to go anywhere, be it work. The substances of CBD never get you high.

These only boost your health and soothe your anxiety. CBD has also been proven useful to ease seizures, or to alleviate depression, and so on. Some shreds of evidence indicate that CBD is the probable replacement of the traditional painkillers.

THC

Tetrahydrocannabinol is called CBD in short. This cannabinoid is the most popular one because it is the main psychoactive cannabinoid.

The cannabis enthusiasts consider it as the star of the cannabis plant. Legal growers these days have been focusing on THC rich strains because of the rising consumer demand.

Similar to the CBD, THC is also associated with some serious pain-relieving effects. But the usage of THC is way more controversial than that of CBD.

Source of Cannabinoids

Cannabis manufacturers and modern scientists have got a few ways to source CBD. There are a few differences in the breeds of those cannabis plants from where it is derived.

A technician who works in a laboratory setting can differentiate both cannabinoids from the regular cannabis plants that are saturated with CBD and THC.CBD is also found in a special breed of cannabis named ‘hemp plants’.

Legal Differences

  • Recreational or medical cannabis has been legalized by 33 states across the globe and if you don’t live in one of them, THC is not legal. Whereas, Congress passed a farm bill legalizing hemp and allowing the hemp farmers to come out of hiding.
  • CBD which is derived from hemp is legal across the USA. Whereas, CBD derived from regular cannabis is only legal in those 33 states where cannabis has been legalized.

Personal Differences

  • If you consume a large amount of THC, you will feel so much intoxicated; recreational consumers love this. But CBD is for the people who want health benefits along with being clear-headed; it’s for those who do not enjoy getting stoned.
  • THC provides you with a euphoria-like feeling, while CBD gives you a more mellow experience.

Wrapping Up

For both CBD and THC, there are endless ways of consumption. The most natural and popular among all the ways is a flower, the buds can be vaped or smoked.

The consumers can also eat the infused edibles, which have been available in the markets in a huge amount from the past few years. You have to ensure that you’re purchasing the compound from a reliable source as the quality matters.

Some products are there which contain no THC, while some are there which contain no CBD. You have to find it out according to your preference; you need to be experimental if you want to start a regimen.
