What is the Difference Between THC and THCV?

The cannabinoids tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) are chemical compounds that, if present in high enough doses, can interact with the body’s

endocannabinoid receptors to induce psychoactive effects.

Despite that, there isn’t much else in common. Despite having similar names, they originate from different molecules producing different effects at different dosages and are found in radically different amounts in marijuana plants. If you’re looking for THCV products, you can try the best thcv online for sale.

What exactly is THCV?

The chemical structures of the two compounds appear to be very similar at first glance, but THC molecules have a longer hydrocarbon chain than CBD molecules. Although both molecules appear similar from afar, they come from totally different chemical pathways.

THC, together with other popular cannabinoids, including cannabidiol (CBD) as well as cannabichromene (CBC), can be created from cannabigerol acids (CBGA). This acid precursor is created in olivetolic acid and geranyl pyrophosphate reactions.

The parent molecule for THCV and its acidic form tetrahydrocannabivarin acid (THCVA) is cannabigerovarinic acid (CBGVA), which is formed when geranyl pyrophosphate reacts with divarinolic acid instead of the olivetolic acid that produces CBGA. The two CBGVA and CBGA undergo similar reactions with the THC synthase enzyme. The reaction is followed by decarboxylation, resulting in THCV and THC.

The potential advantages of the THCV

THCV is affectionately referred to as”the “race automobile,” also known as the “sports vehicle” of cannabinoids because high doses are believed to provide users with the sensation of a quick-lasting yet extremely energy-filled high. The substance has been linked to a myriad of physiological effects that are a compelling prospect for research in medical cannabis.

The effects of obesity and weight loss

Its capability to block the actions of CB1 receptors is a key area of research on the regulation of appetite. Researchers have found that even low doses of THCV between 5 and 7.5 milligrams can effectively suppress appetite. Some studies suggest that the drug may be effective in helping increase connectivity in specific regions of our brain, which are affected in people who are overweight.

While the documented effect of THCV in the form of an appetite-suppressant can be beneficial for tackling weight gain, it’s crucial that users of cannabis who are have already been overweight, are undergoing treatment for anorexia, or are being treated for issues with appetite, be conscious of this effect to stay clear of products that contain large quantities of THCV.

Diabetes

Higher doses of THCV between 10 and 20 milligrams have been proven to aid in the regulation of blood sugar levels. They may lower the body’s resistance to insulin, so the substance has been identified as an effective treatment for people suffering from diabetes.

THCV has been studied extensively on various diseases related to diabetes, such as several clinical trials that were randomized and controlled. One such study was that was published in Diabetes Care, the American Diabetes Association journal Diabetes Care, conclusively concluded THCV “could be a novel treatment for glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes,” following the conclusion that the compound had a significant effect on the function of pancreatic cells while being well-tolerated by the participants in the study.

Anti-inflammatory

Another area of research that is well-documented for THCV is its potential to function as an effective anti-inflammatory agent.

A study from 2010 published in the British Journal of Pharmacology investigating the ability of THCV to activate the body’s CB receptors revealed that the substance could reduce symptoms of inflammation and inflammation in mice who were able to do so, probably due to its effects on CB1 or CB2 receptors.

THCV recently appeared in an investigation that outlines the anti-inflammatory properties of a formulation of cannabinoids for fighting inflammation related to Covid-19 in the lung. Research published in Science found that CBD contains many cannabinoids, including cannabigerol (CBG), and a lower dosage of THCV “may be of clinical significance benefit” in reducing inflammation related to Covid-19 in the lung epithelial cells.

But, they discovered that the fraction was linked to pro-inflammatory activity in macrophages. This may increase the “cytokine” storm “cytokine storm”seen in severe Covid-19 patients. In the end, researchers in the study recommend extreme caution when recommending cannabis-based treatments that may be beneficial for patients suffering from Covid-19 as long as further research is needed. It should also be noted that neither health care staff nor the patient should use cannabis to aid in Covid-19 prevention or treatment.

What types of THCV products are available?

THCV can be found in full-spectrum hemp and cannabis products, including oils, waxes, and edibles. THCV extracts, isolates, and distillates are also available. To purchase THCV products online, visit cannaaidshop.com.
