7 Factors That Affect Your Cannabis High

As human beings, each of us has different ways of unwinding. Some people enjoy cigarettes, while others love to drink alcohol. However, if you want to try something more exquisite, smoking cannabis can be a great way to ease the mind and body.

Many of us have heard of the recreational benefits that come with consuming cannabis. However, what some people don’t know is that your enjoyment comes in various degrees. Also known as a cannabis high, it describes the exciting sensation you feel when the effects have immersed into your body. The best cannabis high can be impacted by several factors, both external and internal.

Here are seven factors that affect your cannabis high:

1. Environment

Contents

As any cannabis smoker will tell you, your surroundings matter. It’s challenging to reach an enjoyable cannabis high when you are not comfortable in your location. Let’s say you are stuck at the office with your boss glancing at you every five minutes. There’s no way you can enjoy your cannabis high in that type of environment. Talk about a mood killer!

Most cannabis users tend to smoke in an indoor setting because the conditions are more favourable. Smoking cannabis can definitely occur outdoors, but there are usually too many factors that may affect your enjoyment. For example, if the weather is windy, you may not inhale the cannabis as effectively as you could. Even if you inhale a good amount of the substance, you can’t enjoy the high with gusts of wind blowing against your face.

Instead, try your best to be in a setting that doesn’t mitigate the effects of your inhalation. There’s a reason why many people smoke cannabis in the comfort of their homes. Of course, you can experiment with smoking elsewhere as well. The results may sometimes surprise you!

2. Type of cannabis

There are many ways in which you can consume cannabis. The most common type resides in a roll-up cigarette. However, other methods of consumption are just as enjoyable. For instance, cannabis can be consumed as edibles, which have the potential to deliver a stellar high.

How you smoke your cannabis can impact the type of high you receive. Edible highs may last longer than a roll-up cigarette. Vaping is another common smoking method, although the high may not be as strong as the techniques mentioned earlier.

3. Terpenes

Terpenes are an excellent way to enhance the cannabis you smoke daily. Instead of just inhaling the substance’s smoke, these characteristics add an additional kick. Many strains of cannabis come in multiple flavour profiles, each of which can be tasty to the user. Terpenes can also affect the potency of the high received as well.

Research is currently ongoing, but the strongest terpenes can make the effects of cannabis stronger. This is also dependent on what sort of terpenes are included in cannabis itself. Lavender, known for its relaxation characteristics, can result in a milder high than other popular strains.

4. Cannabinoid characteristics

Speaking of the strain of cannabis used, this can impact the high to a much larger degree. For beginners who are just getting familiar with the substance, it is vital to understand each strain. Many users tend to enjoy the use of THC, which is the most popular strain currently used. Others may enjoy CBD, a counterpart of sorts to the aforementioned cannabis strain.

While both strains have their perks, each user will have a different reaction to them. Some users may experience a longer high due to THC, which can impede their enjoyment. If you are trying to determine which one is right for you, speak to a professional representative at a head shop. These individuals will be able to point you in the right direction.

5. Dosage

No matter what age you are, getting the correct dosage when smoking cannabis is vital. This is because you don’t want to overindulge in the substance or do the opposite either. Smoking requires a delicate technique, which is something that you will become familiar with over time.

If you consume too little of the substance, the high you experience will eventually wear out. You may feel little to no effects as a result, which can impede the method as a whole. Take the time to experience the potency, and you will be good to go.

6. Age

Despite opinions to the contrary, the smoker’s age is also correlated to the high you eventually receive. Older individuals may be less tolerant to even the mildest of highs compared to adolescents. However, don’t let your age hold you back from enjoying cannabis products. Although you may not attain the same high as a younger individual, the experience still remains enjoyable.

7. Tolerance levels

At the end of the day, our tolerance for cannabis will directly impact the high we receive. If you know that you are sensitive to cannabis, it is best to start with a low amount. The effects you experience will be just as potent. Once you are more experienced, you can adjust the consumption levels accordingly until you reach that perfect cannabis high!
