A Complete Guide for the Beginners, Interested in Growing Weeds Legally

Most of the people know that the legalization of recreational and medicinal marijuana across 33 states allows many cannabis enthusiasts to purchase marijuana from dispensaries. The legalization also has intriguingly provided opportunities for cultivating marijuana at home.

Though the limitations, rules and regulations, and laws for each state are to some extent different from the other, almost every state that has legalized cannabis has also allowedits home cultivation.

Some people do not take advantage of their right for growing marijuana due to their wrong perception of growing the plants. Most of them think it’s time-consuming, expensive, and difficult.

But we request you not to get discouraged due to the lack of ambition in others.

Growing marijuana at your place can be fun and simple, and also reasonable. Besides that, every cannabis user should have access to their stuff, by growing them on their own.

So we decided on writing down comprehensive guidance with the essential knowledge for growing marijuana, considering the beginner growers in mind.

Today, in these guidelines, we will make you walk through each detailed step of establishing your marijuana farm, ensuring you the utmost success.

Step 1: Designate a Grow Space or a Room

Contents

Creating a suitable space for cannabis growth should be your first step. It’s not necessary to arrange a typical room for this, a tent, storage room, cabinet, spare room, or even an incomplete cellar will work. Just take care of one thing that the area has enough room to fit your equipment and plants.

Step 2: Choose the Grow Lights

Well, for the proper growth of your yields, you need to choose the best lighting that provides the environmental factors of essential rays to your plants. Let’s go through a brief rundown of a few types of lights that help the indoor growing of the cannabis.

  • HID Grow Lights:

These are high-intensity discharge lights that are vastly used in the industries as they provide an outstanding combination of efficiency, output, and value.

There are 2 main types of HID lamps that are used for growing:-

  1. Metal Halide or MH, it produces a blue-ish white light and is used during the growth of vegetation.
  2. High Pressure Sodium or HPS, it produces lights that are generally red or orange (lights from the end of the spectrum), these lamps are used when the flowering stage is there.

Useful Tip:– A lot of heat is produced by HID bulbs. Therefore, if you use HID bulbs, you need an air-cooler reflector, if your space does not have a good ventilation system.

  • Fluorescent Grow Lights:

These light fixtures are quite popular amongst small scale hobby growers. Most of the time some high-output (HO) T5 bulbs are used in this type of grow light.

These types of lamps are quite cheap to set up. More to your amazement, ballast, reflector, and bulbs are included in one packaging. In addition to that, these bulbs never generate as much heat as the HID lamps do, hence this type of set up does not require a cooling system.

  • LED Grow Lights:

Nowadays,Light Emitting Diode bulbs are being widely used for indoor plant growing purposes, because these lights create super-efficient light fixtures. But these lights are a little costlier. Some greatly designed fixtures may cost 10 times what an HID set up costs. But there are many benefits too.

These lights use a very little amount of electricity, last way longer than the other lights, create less heat.

Moreover, there are some great designs available in the market, which can generate a fuller spectrum of lights, leading the yields to be bigger with better quality.

Step 3: Provide Air to Your Plants

Fresh air is essential for the plants, to thrive. They also need CO2 (carbon dioxide), so that they can carry out the process of photosynthesis. To ensure the necessary air-flowing to your room, place an exhaust fan near the top of the room, this will provide a steady stream of necessary air to your saplings.

Select the size for your exhaust fan as indicated by the size of your plantation room and the measure of warmth your illuminating set creates. The growing room additionally needs a separate air gulf on the contrary side of the exhaust fan.

The temperature of your room should remain within a range that your plants are comfortable at. When the lights are on, the temperature should be between 70 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, while in the darkroom it should be between 58 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 4: Use Your Climate Control Monitors

You will always want to automate the functions of your light and climate control equipment. The timings of the light cycle are very important for the growth of the plants.

There are the most basic models available in the market, with the help of which you may set the thermostat to the maximum suitable temperature for your cultivation room.

Just plug your exhaust fan into the device and leave for your daily chores. The device will automatically start your exhaust fan once the temperature starts rising from its particular level.

Step 5: Decide a Grow Medium for Your Cannabis

Every medium you choose may come with its benefits or drawbacks. You may choose a Rockwool slab in a hydroponic tray, or even the old school terracotta pots full of soil.

Making a good choice of the soil is immensely necessary for first-time growers as this is the most traditional medium for growth. Well, “super soil” (organic pre-fertilized soil) is a great choice for beginners, as this soil helps the marijuana plants grow without any added nutrients.

Step 6: Feed Proper Nutrients to Your Plants

If you are not using the super soil and you want to feed your plants manually, here are the tips that you require. High-quality weed needs more fertilizer than common crops do.

The primary nutrients (micronutrients) mandatory for your plants are:-

  • Phosphorus (P)
  • Nitrogen (N)
  • Potassium (K)
  • Magnesium (Mg)
  • Calcium (Ca)
  • Copper (Cu)
  • Iron (Fe)

Purchase the compulsory nutrient products from the market and make a solution mixing the nutrients to the water as directed in the packaging. Now, water your saplings with the solution and wait for the marvelous result.

Step 7: Proper Watering Is Immensely Necessary

The selection of the water for watering your plants is immensely important for the growth, hence it should be taken care of. Most of the time, the quality of the water depends on your location.

If the water naturally comes with a high amount of dissolved minerals, the minerals may cause severe harm to the root zone of your plants. It may also influence nutrient take-up.

Moreover, in a few areas, there is a huge level of chlorine present in natural water. Chlorine compounds are harmful to the soil microbes, while these microbes in the soil are beneficial for the marijuana plants.

So, know the type of your water and take the necessary steps to filter it before watering your plants. Also remember that marijuana plants easily catch fungal root diseases, if left with wet roots for a longer period. Therefore, avoid over-watering your plants. That’s where seed quality becomes vital factor & this is one of the resources that we use to buy cannabis seeds online for cheap.

Conclusion

We hope that the guidelines we wrote for you are going to provide you with every information you had been looking for, and you will grow healthy marijuana plants with flawless buds and tremendous yields.

In the above article, we have shown you all the true processes which were tried by the world’s most successful and largest growers.
