Does CBD Oil work for Pain Relief

For centuries, cannabis-based medicine has been used to treat a wide variety of ailments. In ancient China, it was used to treat everything from gout and malaria to constipation and absent-mindedness. In India, it was used as a pain reliever, an antispasmodic, and an antiemetic.

Even in the United States, cannabis-based medicines were once quite popular; in fact, until 1937, cannabis was listed in the U.S. Pharmacopeia as a treatment for a variety of conditions, including pain, inflammation, nausea, and anxiety. So, what happened? Why did cannabis-based medicine fall out of favour?

In 1937, the Marijuana Tax Act was passed, which effectively criminalized the use of cannabis in the United States. As a result of this legislation, cannabis-based medicines fell out of favour and were no longer prescribed by doctors. It wasn’t until the 1970s that attitudes toward cannabis began to change; in 1970, the Controlled Substances Act classified cannabis as a Schedule I drug, which meant that it was considered to have a high potential for abuse and no accepted medical use. However, since then attitudes have changed dramatically; today, 33 states have legalized the use of cannabis and CBD for medicinal purposes, and more states are considering similar legislation.

In 2018 CBD was legalised due to it being effective in treating a rare form of epilepsy. Early studies have shown that CBD can help to reduce seizure activity in patients by as much as 50% in some and completely in others. In addition, CBD is thought to be safe and well-tolerated, with few side effects. As a result, it is considered to be a promising treatment option for those with rare forms of epilepsy.

CBD oil is a natural alternative to over-the-counter drugs that are used for pain relief. CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the many cannabinoids found in hemp and cannabis plants. Cannabinoids are compounds that interact with the endocannabinoid system in the body, which regulates pain, inflammation, and other biological processes.

CBD oil has been shown to be effective in reducing pain and inflammation in a variety of conditions, including arthritis, muscle pain, nerve pain, and more. In one study, CBD was even shown to be more effective than ibuprofen in reducing inflammation. CBD oil is also non-addictive and does not have the same side effects as other pain medications.

CBD oil can be taken orally or applied topically to the skin. For oral use, you can take CBD oil by itself or add it to your food or drink. To use it topically, apply a small amount of oil to the area of pain and massage it in until it is absorbed. You can find CBD oil in a variety of forms, including tinctures, capsules, edibles, topical creams and oils, and more.

CBD creams for pain

Topical CBD products are applied directly to the skin, providing localized relief. CBD is anti-inflammatory and analgesic, meaning that it can help to reduce swelling and pain. In addition, CBD has been shown to stimulate the growth of new nerve cells, which can help to repair damage caused by chronic pain conditions. Topical CBD products are available in a variety of forms, including creams, balms, and oils.

When choosing a topical CBD product, it is important to select one that is designed for use on the area of the body where you are experiencing pain. For example, products that contain menthol or camphor may be more effective for muscle pain, while products that contain arnica may be better for joint pain. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to using topical CBD for pain relief, but experimentation can help you find the product that works best for you.

CBD Oil Dosage for Pain Relief

The dosage of CBD oil will vary depending on the condition being treated and your individual physiology. A general rule of thumb is to start with a low dose and increase as needed until you find relief. For topical use, a pea-sized amount of CBD oil should be enough to cover a small area. For oral use, start with 1-2 drops of oil under the tongue and hold for 60 seconds before swallowing.

Conclusion:

If you are looking for an effective and natural way to relieve pain, then CBD oil may be right for you. CBD oil has been shown to be effective in reducing pain and inflammation associated with a variety of conditions. It is also non-addictive and does not have the same side effects as other pain medications. When using CBD oil for pain relief, be sure to start with a low dose and increase it as needed until you find relief.
