The 5 Ways Technology Has Changed The Cannabis Industry

So how has technology transformed the cannabis industry? Technology is one of the biggest forces in shaping the world into what it is today. Cannabis is not an exception to this, where technology has contributed to its rapid growth in the medical marijuana industry.

The legalization of marijuana in some countries has also allowed more people to be open minded about cannabis. With the help of technology, it has propelled how people buy and use the product to new heights.

1. Online Dispensaries / E-commerce

Contents

The invention of technology has allowed cannabis to be sold online through the internet. Plus, software like this dispensary inventory management tool can be used to help keep track of inventory, as well as data related to compliance reporting, customer history, and order tracking, making these online stores full-scale businesses.

With online dispensary websites popping up on Google, this platform has made it easier for cannabis users to buy weed that ships straight to their doorstep.

Online Dispensary Canada is an example of an e-commerce cannabis store that sells cannabis all over Canada. They sell a variety of cannabis products including:

  1. THC Vape Pens
  2. Sativa, Indica, Hybrid strains
  3. Weed Concentrates such as hash and shatter
  4. Weed edibles such as gummies
  5. THC Distillate
  6. CBD Capsules

2. Improve Cultivation

Gone are the days of growing ineffective weed at home. Technology has made it easy for anyone to grow cannabis with proper guidance.

The only downside is the cost of using the technology to grow the best crop possible. However, the investment is well worth it when the automation of growing weed gives you the best quality harvest possible.

The Sativa strain is a weed concentrate that needs a high intensity light to grow properly. With advancements in LED technology, it has also made it much easier for non-tropical regions to do so.

3. More Jobs

As more and more countries legalized cannabis, it has created more jobs for its citizens. In Canada, analysts have estimated the cannabis industry to be worth a whopping $5 billion by 2021.

With marijuana legal in all Canadian provinces, it has benefited many people with medical conditions. It has also allowed online dispensaries to pop up and create more job positions for people ranging from customer service to marketing.

4. Aid The Police

Before the advancement in technology, police had limited methods on how to determine if a person was high. Technology has helped scientists experiment with better breathalyze, where it would be able to detect any THC levels in a person hours after its use.

As technology continues to improve, it is certain that we will see more improvements in how cannabis use is regulated by the police.

5. DNA Sequencing

With the ability to sell cannabis online in legalized countries, it has helped doctors find new breakthroughs in the marijuana plant.

This flower has many chemicals that produce mind altering effects to a user, giving them a “high feeling.”  The most common chemicals are THC and CBD, where the latter will give all the medical benefits of the plant without its “high” effects.

DNA sequencing has made it possible to create an accurate blueprint for companies to work with. Before, it was difficult to create the same two cannabis concentrate with similar THC levels.

Now, technology has allowed us to make cannabis products with the exact THC or CBD levels.

Conclusion

Technology has certainly influenced the cannabis industry in a big way. It will continue to do so for years to come as long as there is supply and demand for the marijuana plant. With the ease of buying weed online and medical benefits, the cannabis industry will be booming for years to come.

In what ways do you think technology has helped change the world of cannabis?
