But there is another type of CBD that could bring brand new benefits to your body. CBD face cream is becoming more popular amongst skincare lovers due to its claimed positive effects and anti-aging properties. If you want to find out more, keep reading and discover just what CBD face cream is and what it could do for you.

Where Does CBD Come From?

You may see a familiar leaf on a lot of CBD packaging and be able to deduce that it comes from the cannabis plant. Normally, THC and CBD are present in plain cannabis, but you can actually process it to only leave you with the CBD. This then makes the compound non-psychoactive and allows you to ingest it without experiencing any alterations to your mood or mind.

How Do I Use CBD Face Cream?

There are lots of different CBD face creams available, all with different uses. Some are designed to target wrinkles, and some could be for acne-prone skin. Whichever face cream you choose, you’ll be able to easily incorporate it into your skincare routine and hopefully see its claimed benefits.

Anti-Aging And Wrinkles

Most anti-aging face creams have a lot of antioxidants in them as they have the potential to help reduce the presence of wrinkles. CBD comes from the cannabis plant, so it’s actually full of antioxidants which makes it perfect to be added to face creams. It’s also anti-inflammatory so it can help lessen the signs of aging and keep your skin looking youthful.

Another common skin complaint that comes with age is redness. This normally occurs on the cheeks and nose and can be a pain to get rid of. CBD face creams have the potential to help with this and keep those rosy cheeks at bay by keeping your blood vessels relaxed underneath the surface of your skin.

Acne

Acne or acne-prone skin can be difficult to deal with and it can be hard to find face creams that don’t irritate your skin further. Studies have shown that CBD could actually be a possible relief for those who suffer, as testing demonstrated that it can soothe the skin and help keep the skin clear. It’s also been suggested that using CBD face creams can help stop the overproduction of sebum, which is one of the problems many acne sufferers try to resolve.

Sebum is a naturally occurring oil that’s produced by your skin, however, if you have too much of it, it can cause spots and skin problems. If you’re thinking of switching up your acne skincare routine, make sure you consult your doctor first, especially if you’re taking medication.

Sensitive Skin

People who have sensitive skin may find it a tricky task to find a face cream that doesn’t cause their skin to flare up or react badly. But CBD is quickly proving that it could be a great addition for those with sensitive skin. Due to its calming properties, CBD is said to help reduce reactions and help reduce soreness. As CBD is anti-inflammatory, some people may find that using a CBD face cream really helps to keep their skin calm and reduce irritation in the long run.

Dry Skin Conditions

More serious skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis can make choosing a face cream almost impossible as you need something that will hydrate, not irritate. Testing carried out on sufferers of these conditions found that CBD actually worked quite well. Not only did their skin not react, but it felt hydrated and smooth. You don’t have to have these skin conditions to see the benefits though.

People with extremely dry skin may see results by adding a CBD face cream into their daily routine. By helping to keep your skin hydrated, using CBD cream could enable you to eliminate dry patches and keep them gone for good.

Before You Buy

Typically, most people find that CBD reacts well with their skin, but it’s still a good idea to test it first. An expert tip is to try it on your arm for a few days, and if your skin doesn’t react, then you’re all good to apply to the face. If you notice any reaction at all, do not put it on your face and consult your doctor. You also want to check how much CBD is in the face cream you’re buying, so you know how much you’re getting.

If the cream doesn’t state how much, it might be best to give that brand a miss and find one that tells you exactly how much CBD is in it. This also ties into the next point, which is to make sure you go for a reputable supplier. CBD has a huge market, which in turn has created the opportunity for scammers to sell dud creams that don’t actually contain any CBD. Don’t just go for a brand because it’s cheap. Do your research and ensure that you buy from a legitimate seller.

Don’t Get Confused: Hemp Oil vs CBD

You may have already seen a lot of face creams that contain hemp oil and may think that it’s the same as CBD seeing as they come from the same place. However, hemp oil doesn’t contain very much CBD, so you won’t see the potential benefits that CBD can bring.

If you’re wanting a CBD face cream, make sure you buy one that isn’t just hemp. It could also be marketed as cannabis sativa oil, and again this is completely different. CBD stands for cannabidiol, so make sure that you choose a face cream with this as its main ingredient.

CBD face creams are still being tested, so there isn’t a definitive answer when questioning if they work. However, people who have been involved in the studies and those who use it day to day, do find that they see the results they’re looking for. If you’re thinking of changing up your skincare routine, why not consider adding a little CBD to it and see if you can yield the same brilliant results.
