The weed is mainly rolled in three types i.e.
- blunts
- joints
- spliffs
Joint is a small roll of weed with a filter at the end. A thin paper is used to roll a joint made up of rice or hemp paper. A joint always contains a filter or crutch which gives stability to the joint and prevents your fingers from burning.
A blunt is made by splitting a cigar. A cigar is filled with tobacco which is removed from it to make blunt. A splitter is used to cut the cigar from the middle and hand-ground weed is filled in it. The wrap is made up of tobacco leaves which give extra buzz and energy to your blunt.
A blunt is thick and big as compared to a joint. They also last longer than joints.
A spliff is similar to joint but is filled with a mixture of tobacco and weed in a rolling paper. This usually has more amount of tobacco in it as compared to blunt so it is more energetic and gives a lot more buzz.
Story of my First role
It took me a long time to master rolling. When I started rolling for the first time, I immediately got frustrated after 3-4 attempts. I wasted a lot of joint paper. I even ripped joint paper while tearing it. Sometimes the roll got loose and glue never seems to stick at all.XD
But finally one day I make my first roll. It looked almost perfect but then arise the actual problem, it does not burn well at all. At that time my frustration level was reaching the sky.
Then I calmed myself began to understand what went wrong. With multiple more tries and some torn joint paper now I have become a master Jedi in rolling a weed joint.

What You Require to Roll
Before you start rolling you might require a few extra tools to make your roll. These tools are necessary and must buy for beginners. All I can say is by using these tools your process will become a whole lot easier and saves money and time.
So, here is all you need;
1. A Weed Grinder
Shock to see this; well we have a very good reason for this. It is stoner’s best friend as breaking weed with hands is just not a way to make a perfect joint. A hand broken weed won’t smoke well.
The reason behind grinding a weed is to burn it along with the joint paper. As we already know that joint paper is very thin. Without a ground-up weed, the paper will burn quickly leaving unburnt weed on the floor.
But in the case of Blunt, we don’t require a grinder as the paper used in this one is quite thick as compared with joint paper. A thick paper burns slowly and if the weed is ground up, it will burn quickly then paper leaving you with a smoking paper.
2. A Poker
Poker is a stick with a pointed end that is used to maneuver the weed to pack it tightly in the joint. You can also use a pencil to maneuver the weed in the joint. This is used to pack weed tightly into the joint once rolling is finished.
I like to use the tip of the pencil to move and settle the weed around the joint. While sitting on the desk I like to roll the joint with tightly filled weed using a pencil. As pencil is available in almost all the houses so you can save buy an extra tool. Sometimes I like to use my fingers to settle weed flat on the joint paper. Remember when you use a finger for this purpose, ground-up weed will stick to your finger.
Once the roll is done, there is always an extra room for some more weed. Use the pencil or poker to put the extra weed and pack it tight.

Thing to Remember while Rolling
The roll should be tight but not too tight. Remember joint should be firm and there should be room for air to pass through. If the weed is packed too tightly, you will prevent air passing through the joint and blunt properly.
Rolling Tray
You don’t want to waste any single facet of that high weed. You can surely sit on your desk and roll the joint but it rather seems best to have a rolling station that can catch the entire weed that falls on the table while rolling.
Every stoner needs a rolling station. Brother, you have to trust me on this, a rolling tray has to be there.

Rolling Machine
The next thing in like is a rolling machine. Now you might be thinking why would I require a rolling machine?
The obvious answer is that a rolling machine is never used for a hand-rolling fat drink.
A rolling machine can roll a king-size joint in a few minutes. You don’t have to do much; the rolling machine can do it at ease.
Settling Location
When you have all the pieces of equipment ready, it’s time to find a place where you can sit properly and roll a joint.
A perfect joint cannot be rolled under pressure. Find a place possibly in your room.
I don’t know you but I personally don’t like people staring at me while I roll. This is a similar situation while you are in school during a test and your teacher stands behind you looking over your shoulders to see what you are writing.
So sit in a comfortable place, probably your desk in your room, and start you’re rolling with focus. It will take a couple of tries but you will end up with a perfect roll.
Preparing the Weed

If you are rolling a joint then you require ground up weed. But if you are rolling a blunt then hand ground weed is preferable. Here’s why:
A blunt wrap is made with tobacco leaves which is thick and burns slowly. Imagine you ground up your weed and fill the tobacco leave with it. Now the blunt paper will burn slowly but since weed is ground, therefore, it will burn at a fast pace.
In the case of a joint, the joint paper used is very thin as compared to blunt paper. If a hand-ground weed is used in this case, the paper will burn quickly as compared to weed and all you can smoke is a burning paper.
So, always remember to use ground up weed for joint whereas hand broke weed for blunt.
Unique Ways to Roll: How To Roll in Many Ways
Once you have mastered the rolling technique, you can roll in different ways.
#1. You can roll a big joint or a small joint. The size does not matter until it is tight and firm. If you keep practicing it, one day you will convert this joint into art.
#2. Some people even do origami with their joint. A unique touch of origami in your joint will make it functional. Once you achieve a level of the great joint roller, try the scorpion joint. It is a combination of eight small joints attached to a common joint as legs.
#3. Some people even roll a joint in a dollar bill. If you are a fan of guns then try a double joint known as a shotgun joint. It is like smoking two joints at one time.
